SCTC Foundation Makes Plans to Host Golf Tournament

Golf

Southern Crescent Technical College issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.

The Southern Crescent Technical College Foundation is excited to announce plans to host the Drive “Fore” Education Invitational Golf Tournament on October 21, 2021 at The Club at Shoal Creek in Griffin, GA.

Because of COVID-19, the Foundation elected to postpone all annual face-to-face fundraising events this calendar year.  As a fun and safe alternative, the SCTC Foundation plans to offer the Drive “Fore” Education Invitational Golf Tournament to continue our tradition of bringing the community together to support and raise funds for Southern Crescent Technical College. The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Lauderdale format.

Jack Bowdoin, Chair of the Southern Crescent Technical College Foundation stated, “The Foundation made the decision to host this tournament in the best interest of everyone’s safety and well-being.  As Southern Crescent Technical College serves the eight counties of Henry, Spalding, Fayette, Jasper, Butts, Lamar, Pike, and Upson, the Foundation is seeking representation from all of the eight counties with sponsorships and teams, and the goal is to have 27 teams in the tournament. The Foundation trustees are thrilled to host this tournament as a way to bring our external stakeholders together to support the needs of the College and our students.”

Contests during the tournament include million dollar shoot out, hole-in-one, putting, longest drive, and closest to the pin.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five teams.
