Alpharetta Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.

Greetings Eagle Families!

We have had a couple of great days of remote learning this week. I am proud of the students, staff, parents, and community and our ability to be resilient. I am thrilled to announce that the staff and I will welcome our students back on January 10, 2022, for face-to-face instruction.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the rise in COVID cases over the holidays. This continues to create staffing and transportation challenges. I ask for your patience as we manage those realities.  At Alpharetta Elementary we will be mitigating COVID through several strategies in the coming days by doing the following:

  • Requiring masks until 1/21--We will provide masks as needed.
  • Continued contacting tracing
  • Students will continue to have modified social distancing when feasible and possible.
  • Sanitizing stations and sanitizer will remain throughout the building for student and staff use throughout the day.
  • Our classrooms and high touch point areas will be wiped down daily with approved cleaners.
  • Additionally, we have implemented twice daily high touch point surface sanitation throughout the building.
  • In the café, our tables will be cleaned and sanitized in between each lunch. Classes will be on a rotating schedule (A & B) to eat in either their classroom or in the cafeteria
  • Water fountains have been disabled for use at this time, however water bottle filling stations are still able to be used so students can have continuous access to fresh water.
  • We will also utilize seating charts in the classrooms and Cafeteria to help us monitor exposure between students should a case arise.
  • Staff will all utilize hand washing breaks throughout the day.
  • Classes will have a recess schedule that allows for social distancing while still being able to interact with peers.
Next week we will continue to offer after school care and extended learning.

As we live through this reality, please remember the following:

  • Don’t come to school/work if you are sick.
  • We strongly encourage families to participate in vaccination and testing opportunities.
  • Please follow public health guidelines and report any positive COVID-19 cases to the Parent or Employee portals.
The district communication provides updated information on multiple topics including quarantine, isolation, and the data to make decisions. It is posted on the district website--www.fultonschools.org

Thank you for your continued flexibility!

Yours in partnership,

Ms. Crawford
