Seining at Georgia 4-H at Camp Jekyll

We’re headed home after a busy three days at Georgia 4-H at Camp Jekyll. Students experienced seining, where they used nets to catch small fish, shrimp and other sea creatures. They visited driftwood beach and learned about the various currents that cause erosion on the north end of Jekyll Island and deposition on the southeast side. They went to herpetology class and learned about a variety of reptiles and amphibians. We closed out last night with a bonfire, campfire songs, and s’mores. Our seventh graders had a great time and learned a ton!
