Clayton County Education: Which district had most students enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year?

Clayton County School District had the highest enrollment among Clayton County districts, welcoming 50,495 students during the 2022-23 academic year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were male, and 49% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 68% of Clayton County School District's total enrollment.

Among the four districts in Clayton County, State Charter Schools- Georgia Cyber Academy ranked second in enrollment numbers with 9,692 students, while State Charter Schools- Dubois Integrity Academy welcomed 1,254 students to be ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.

Clayton County School District generally encompasses schools within Clayton County with its main office in Jonesboro.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
