The Atlanta Falcons are closely monitoring the condition of offensive lineman Kaleb McGary as they begin preparations for Week 4. During their Sunday game against the Kansas City Chiefs, both Drew Dalman and McGary were injured in the second quarter and ruled out by halftime.
Dalman suffered a high ankle sprain, while McGary is believed to have strained his MCL. Dalman has been placed on injured reserve, but McGary remains on the active roster despite not participating in Wednesday's practice.
McGary commented on his status: "Nothing 'super, super bad' showed up on the MRI," adding that he will be day-to-day moving forward. He noted it is too early to determine if he will be ready for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.
If McGary is unable to play, Storm Norton will take over at right tackle as he did last Sunday. Ryan Neuzil is expected to start at center with Dalman sidelined.
To address depth concerns on the offensive line, Elijah Wilkinson has been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster. Matt Hennessy fills Wilkinson's spot on the practice squad. Both players have previously played significant roles for the Falcons at guard and center.
Apart from McGary, no other Falcons player was listed on Wednesday's injury report.
