When the Philadelphia Eagles secured their spot in the Super Bowl by defeating the Washington Commanders, it opened a door for Falcons running back Bijan Robinson to participate in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Robinson will take over for Eagles running back Saquon Barkley at the event scheduled to take place later this week in Orlando, Florida.

Robinson was initially voted as a first alternate behind NFC running backs Barkley, Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions, and Josh Jacobs from the Green Bay Packers. He will be joining fellow Falcons representatives Chris Lindstrom and KhaDarel Hodge at the Pro Bowl Games.

This opportunity comes after an impressive season for Robinson. The second-year player recorded 1,456 rushing yards, ranking third in the NFL by the end of the regular season. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry and led the league with 117 missed tackles forced. Additionally, Robinson was ranked third in yards after contact with 728.

The Falcons' rushing offense surpassed 2,000 total yards for a third consecutive season, with Robinson contributing nearly 70% of that total. He had 365 touches during the 2024 season, placing him second only to Barkley in this category. Barkley led in yards from scrimmage with 2,283 (2,005 rushing), while Robinson was fourth with 1,887 yards.

Robinson also made his mark on league history books. Since joining the NFL, he has played in 32 games with at least 50 scrimmage yards each time—a record he shares with Pro Football Hall of Famers Edgerrin James and LaDainian Tomlinson for most such games by a player within their first two seasons.

The 2025 Pro Bowl Games will be available on ESPN, ABC, Disney+, and streamed on ESPN.com, ESPN+, NFL+, and FuboTV. The events begin on Thursday, January 30th—coincidentally Robinson's birthday—with skills challenges starting at 7 p.m. ET. Additional skill competitions and a flag football game are set for Sunday, February 2nd at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
